CCHR spearheaded its national
Fight For Kids campaign exposing how parents were being coerced and/or forced to give their children psychiatric drugs as a condition of attending school or face charges of medical neglect (for disorders that could not be
medically proven to exist). As a direct result of this public awareness campaign, a federal bill was passed into law,
The Prohibition on Mandatory Medication Amendment, which prohibits schools from requiring a parent administer a psychiatric drug to their child as a condition of attending school. CCHR’s work with state legislators led to the passage of similar parental rights protections in 10 states. Several of these laws include prohibiting Child Protective Services from removing children from their homes if their parents refuse to give them a mind-altering psychotropic drug.
